1. What does MemoryUp do?

A: MemoryUp Mobile RAM Booster manages system memory, the paging file, and the way in which virtual memory is allocated in order to maximize performance.  It recovers RAM not currently needed by the operating system and applications, and recovers memory leaked by applications. It can temporarily flush unused DLLs and libraries out of memory to make room for your other applications and games (these come back transparently when needed).

2. How should I adjust my settings?

A: The setting options are very important for the performance of MemoryUp. If you want to achieve the best performance of MemoryUp, you should refer to the user manual to understand what each setting item does. We also have some recommendations and tips in the user manual. Please read it before you start to boost up your smartphone.

3. Why can't I see the immediate effects of MemoryUp?

A: Many factors (such as your smartphone deployment and status of other running applications on your smartphone, etc) can affect its working performance. In general, the mistake people make frequently is setting MemoryUp too aggressively. The intent of MemoryUp is to ensure you never run out of RAM when you need it and recover as much memory as possible.

And the settings are also very important for improving MemoryUp's performance. Please refer to the user manual on how to manage your MemoryUp settings  before you start to boost up your smartphone.

4. What does the MemoryUp engine do?

A: The MemoryUp engine is a utility that frees up unutilized memory. It manages allocation of memory to execute programs. It prevents performance from degrading when your smartphone system swaps files and programs in and out of memory. It repairs memory leaks and prevents mobile system from slowdowns and makes your system more responsive.

It also defragments memory, thus improving system access time, saving memory and preventing system corruptions. It also leads to faster shutdowns as system cache is emptied. Although MemoryUp automatically monitors and controls all above, you can also do it manually with a single click.

5. Can MemoryUp make my system unstable?

A: No. Since it increases the amount of memory available to applications, your system should become more stable. It installs no extra files or drivers and does not modify your system files.

6. Does MemoryUp compress memory?

A: Absolutely not. There is no performance-robbing compression at all. It makes your system RAM to be used in a more efficient manner, and allows you to reclaim that memory from applications and the operating system when you need it most.

7. Can MemoryUp really recover memory leaks?

A: While it cannot recover them from the address space (the application would shut down if it did indeed try to use that memory at some point), it can recover the physical RAM leakage, making it available to the operating system and other applications.

8. Can MemoryUp improve gaming performance?

A: Yes. Let's say you start a game and half way through it suddenly demands memory for graphics, etc.  Without MemoryUp, your system would visibly pause as other applications and parts of the operating system were busy swapping RAM for themselves. If you "Defragment and Recover" before starting the game, MemoryUp should make a noticeable improvement.

9. I purchased your MemoryUp software for my N95 from Handango (order id: xxxxxxx).  The registration key I was given: XXXXXXXXX-XXXX is not working for me.

A: Please open the register page and fill the full reg-code in the "code" row. All the reg-code must be input in upper-case. For most Nokia phones, you can click "#" button to change the cases.

10. MemoryUp is supposed to boost my smartphone. But when I check the memory usage with handy taskman, MemoryUp takes about 3-4M memory while running in the background? Is MemoryUp a memory hog itself?

A: The answer is definitely no. When MemoryUp is running on your smartphone, it will automatically take control of the JVM (Java Virtual Machine) RAM of your phone and re-allocate scattered memory dynamically. Most memory monitoring applications, such as Handy Taskman and Smartphoneware Tracker, however, consider all the JVM RAM as memories occupied by MemoryUp. Therefore they will indicate a high memory usage of MemoryUp Pro Mobile RAM Booster. According to our tech team and customer's feedbacks, MemoryUp can effectively analyze and recover up to 50% JVM RAM occupied by other java programs on your smartphone.

11. How can I set MemoryUp to boost my smartphone automatically?

A: Let's take an example, say you want Memoryup to automatically boost in every 3 hours. All you need to do is to set a 3 hours interval in "Settings" page, then click "Hide" to let MemoryUp run in the background. By doing this, MemoryUp will start to run in a "Half-sleeping" mode, which will minimize the system resource occupied by MemoryUp and auto-boost your system memory in predefined interval. You can wake up Memoryup at any time just by clicking the icon of MemoryUp.

12. I purchased memory up-Mobile RAM Booster for my Blackberry Curve.  How do I install the product?

A: As for your question on installation, you can install MemoryUp with either of the following two methods:

1).With your BB's Application Loader:

All you need to do is to download MemoryUp at:
http://www.emobistudio.com/download/memoryup_bb/memoryup_bb.zip
Then unzip the MemoryUp mobile software Package, find and open the "memoryup.alx" file, and install it with your BB's Application Loader.

2).Or issue an over the air (OTA) installation directly from your BB:

* Start up the BlackBerry Browser.
* Enter the web address:

* Follow the instructions to download and install the MemoryUp Specially designed for BlackBerry.

13. What's the difference between "Hide" and "Exit" in MemoryUp's main menu?

A: On the main menu of MemoryUp, you can find both "Exit" and "Hide" options. By selecting "Exit", you will terminate MemoryUp. While by clicking "Hide" option, MemoryUp will stay running in the background. You can set MemoryUp to automatically boost your memory in the setting page.

14. How can I know whether MemoryUp is successfully hidden and running in the background?

A: There are two easy ways to check whether MemoryUp is successfully hidden into background:

1). After hiding MemoryUp into the background, try to reopen it in your application list window. If MemoryUp is successfully hidden in the background, it will appear much quicker than starting it for the first time.

2). You can activate auto-optimization function in MemoryUp's setting page and set the interval at 30 minutes (for example). Then after you reopen MemoryUp half an hour later, you can check the log list to see whether those predefined auto-optimizations are successfully performed. If the result is yes, it shows that MemoryUp is successfully hidden and working in the background.

15. I am using a BlackBerry 8100. I find there is a difference between "File Free" shown by my BB with "Free Memory" shown by MemoryUp. Why?

A: As for your question, the "File Free" in your BB is not the same as "Free Memory" in MemoryUp. The "File Free" indicates the free disk space in your BB, while "Free Memory" in MemoryUp indicates the free RAM that is available for the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) in your BB. So they are totally different.

16. When I try to open "memoryup.jar" with my windows mobile smartphone's File Explorer, I get the error message: "There is no application associated with 'MemoryUp'. Run the application first and then open this file inside the application." How can I solve this problem?

A: This error occurs when your windows mobile system does not provide support for java applications. To add java support/extension to your windows mobile smartphone or pocket PC, you need to install an extra plug-in for your windows mobile handheld, which is the "IBM WebSphere Everyplace Micro Environment 6.1.1". Please read MemoryUp Windows Mobile Edition's step by step installation instructions at here.

17. What does yearly subscription mean?

A: According to my company's policy, software package ordered by customer is for life time. A one year free upgrade and one time free license transfer is also offered with the order. After that, each customer may choose to renew his license if he wants to get upgrade or license transfer after his one year subscription ends (this is optional). And our account management will update your order record.

18. Can you give some suggestions on settings?

A: As for the optimum settings for MemoryUp Pro, it will depend on the load of your smartphone. For example, if you smartphone's working load is quite high (i.e. you are running over 3 applications at the same time), you should set MemoryUp Pro to auto boost more frequently (i.e. every 10 mins or 30 mins). Normally we advise my customers to set MemoryUp Pro to auto-boost in every 1 hour and then run MemoryUp in the background by clicking the "Hide" option of MemoryUp Pro. Other settings you can just use the default ones on MemoryUp, those default settings are tuned for optimizing the performance of average smartphones. 19. Is it still necessary to send you the user-id after each installation?

A: According to our company's policy, each customer is eligible for a one-year free upgrade as well as a one-time free license transfer in case of swapping mobile phone. (After that, you may renew your license with a 30% discount at our website at http://www.emobistudio.com/memoryup_pro.asp) You need to send us the new user-id generated by MemoryUp Pro after your each installation. 20. Why there is a message “can't access to the online server” returned by MemoryUp when I try to register?

A: The problem is that your BlackBerry can not access properly to our online register server. To further assist you, our account management will generate a new key for you to issue an offline registration. In order to generate the offline registration key, we need some more information from you. Please enter the "register" page (by clicking the "Register" option in MemoryUp Pro's main menu) and check the user-id generated by MemoryUp Pro. Please send the user-id to us, our account management will generate the registration key for you as soon as we receive your user-id.

21. How to start MemoryUp on my BlackBerry Storm?

A: After your installation, you could find the icon of MemoryUp in the 'Downloads' folder or 'Application' folder of your BlackBerry Storm. By clicking the icon, you can launch MemoryUp.

26. I purchased your "MemoryUp Pro" for my BlackBerry 8350i. When I open the program and hit the menu key, no menu appears. I can scroll down on my trackball and select different screens. There is no menu visible. Please advice.

A: The reason is the theme of Blackberry has transparencies in the menu and in this case it will not show the main menu of MemoryUp Pro. Our tech team recommends you adjusting your BB theme. 27. I just purchase MemoryUp Pro from Handango and it seems quite clear to me that the version I received is not compatible with the Tour 9630. In the advanced screen the options simply will not scroll down at all. Have any good ideas to solve this?

1. How to download and install NetWorkAcc to my BlackBerry?

A: Please refer to the following two methods to download and install NetworkAcc onto your BlackBerry:
1). With your BlackBerry Desktop Manager
a) Download the latest version of NetworkAcc software package to your PC at:

b) Start BlackBerry Desktop Manager, connect your BlackBerry device to your PC or laptop. This is usually done by connecting the USB cable or through Bluetooth (if supported.)
c) Unzip the NetworkAcc software Package, find and open the "NetworkAcc.alx" file, then install it with your BB's Application Loader.

2). Or issue an over the air (OTA) installation directly from your BB
a) Start up the BlackBerry Browser.

2. Error message: "Failed. The operation breaks up with an unexpected interruption: java.io.IOException: APN is not specified. Error Code: -1".

3. What are the 'Accelerator Gears' in NetworkAcc used for? And how can I shift the gears on my BlackBerry?

A: NetworkAcc (Mobile Network Accelerator) provides accelerate gears from 1 to 5, the higher the gear is, the faster the network speed will be. However, it will take some extra smartphone resources (i.e. system memory and processing power) and cause heavier workload. The default value is 2. Usually we recommend normal users a value of 2 or 3. But if you have frequent online activities, or your smartphone has adequate memory and processing capability, you can choose a value of 4 or 5. please follow the following ways to change gears and fasten the speed.

Accelerator gears could be shifted from 1 to 5. There are mainly two ways to shift accelerator gears:
1) Use tracking ball to change accelerator gears. Move the cursor on "Shift Accelerator Gears", then open the menu, and select "Change Option".
2) Use Alt + roll. Move the cursor on "Shift Accelerator Gears", press "Alt" button + roll tracking ball to shift gears.

4. What settings I need if I have a BB Storm on verizon?

A: For the setting of your BlackBerry Storm, please refer to the following guide to set:
1) 'Select OS:'- please select OS 4.7;
2) 'Select Carrier:'- please select Verizon;
3) 'Select Server Type:' & 'Select Connection Type:'- If you are not sure about your BlackBerry server type and connection type, please contact your Internet Service Provider. They will provide you with specific information of your BlackBerry's server type and connection type.
